Desert Trek
Acrylic on Canvasboard , 2003
⬆ The Rubann Dharmuzz was born in Varzuun's far distant past, in the far-off land of Al Zaqara, a land of mystery and magic said to be the first thriving empire of the humans - and the birthplace of dragons! The mage grew to prominence by aiding Orionnus and Sedonia in slaying Mahadra, the mother of all dragons, but then he became the Rubann after vanquishing the Lich king, Hachmöse. Thereafter, when the spring of Naskar was sealed off, the great civilizations of Al Zaqara and Vythunia fell into decline and ruin. With a twist of time and space, a strange cult of magic and wizards grew up around the myth of the Rubann Dharmuzz. |

Head of the Staff of the Arch-Mage with Hieroglyphs of Power
Digital (Blender™ and Photoshop™), 2021
⬆ Roll the mouse over the image to make the magical Hieroglyphs appear. The staff has several talismans which draw upon the many manifestations of arcane power. The orb (sun), which glows with a fluctuating purple light, is an ancient artifact thought to be a link to the Arch-Seraph Magillicus himself. The Scarab beetle links the staff's power to the spell caster. The wings draw power from the element of air/wind. The eye of Osiris (engraved on the staff itself) draws arcane power from the outer planes. The horns of the Apis Bull (encircling the orb) grant elevated strength & power to the spell caster.
The cartouche hieroglyph contains the name 'Dharmuzz', with a Scarab atop indicating that he is a Vizier (Wizard). The circle of power bears symbols associated with the five arcane attributes of the Heavenly Council of the Seven and the Five. The figure of Thoth represents the seeking of arcane knowledge. The sphynx represents the arcane mysteries, and the Ankh is a symbol of life - that a mortal being may wield the staff. |
