Chilam, myth has it, was born at the age of ninety and grows younger every day - at least in his own mind. Chilam has been drawing and painting (and getting in trouble for it) since he was a very small child. At about the age of eight, he was allowed to stay up all night one night to watch a Star Trek© marathon, at which point he became a total Trekkie. Chilam is a child of the space age and his foray into the world of fantasy art and literature began when the space shuttle and Star Wars™ first appeared. began to include spacecraft of his own design. That earned him several local awards. Then Dungeons & Dragons™ set in. The Varzuun Saga was born out of some of those D & D adventures, as well as some of Chilam's real-life adventures. He became a professional artist/illustrator in 1989. In 2009, Chilam earned a Bachelor of Science degree in astrophysics from the University of British Columbia. In addition to Author/Artist/Illustrator, Chilam is a freelance contract consultant for both the aerospace industry and the world of fine wines. Chilam is currently single and lives and works in New Westminster, BC, Canada.
